...What is an Aura?

Kirlian Photo of an Aura & Chakras

Auras are the electromagnetic/emotional fields that in and around our bodies. They are not in us. We are in them. Inside of our bodies are seven primary energy centers, called Chakras. Chakra, literally, means 'Wheel'.

The first layer of the aura extends about a quarter of an inch outward from the body. The next layer extends two to four inches, and is the clearest aura, and beyond this is a misty aura that is six inches or more across. It enlarges with age, especially in women. Longer rays may extend from fingers, elbows, breasts, hips, knees and feet. A healthy aura is brightly colored. The grayer, or duller, the aura, the stronger the possibility of nervous conditions or disease.

Organic disease seems to affect/infect the inner aura. In fact, the cells in our body are powered by ATP (adenosine tryphosphate), an electromagnetic energy. In my opinion, ATP is the scientific explanation for the aura at work in our bodies.

When two people are standing side by side, the stronger aura can be seen flowing into the other. Male energy is nearly always more dominating than female, as female energy absorbs, is accommodating, receptive and introverted. Male energy projects, is expansive, expressive and extroverted. There may actually be several colors in an aura. Our thoughts, feelings and beliefs influence these colors.

There is beauty in every aura, as it is an expression of who you are. One color may dominate, while other colors may be missing all together. It is not surprising to find that the colors of your aura are also your favorite colors!

Signs of a Distressed Aura

Memory lapse.

Frequent nightmares or insomnia.

Sudden profound fatigue and feeling drained.

Always feeling as though someone is watching you.

Irrational, or sudden, emotional outbursts or mood swings.

Feeling off balance or dizzy for a continued period of time.

Sudden physical pain, illness or discomfort that is relatively unexplained.

Suddenly acting out of character or big changes in behavior.

Unexplainable negative or obsessive thoughts.

Recurring accidents or a string of bad luck.

Dramatic loss of self-confidence.

Suicidal tendencies.

Doesn't this sound eerily familiar?

Aren't these symptoms of Stress Syndromes?

Except for trauma, there is nothing that affects the aura more than stress. Constant worry is an internal stressor. We must begin to change positively and use practices that will protect our energy fields.

If you are interested in discovering the primary colors of your aura, please take the 'Aura Energy Self-Test', at no charge to you! Afterwards, come back to this page for some wonderful suggestions on how to balance your aura! The Chakra Energy Centers!

There are seven major chakras in the body, as well as many others. These energy centers keep us balanced. If one or more Chakras are weakened, it affects all the others, and we become imbalanced. The imbalance created can then be manifested as described above in 'Signs of a Distressed Aura'. Meditation can be used to heal each chakra energy center.

The 7 Major Chakras

The 7th Chakra: The Crown

Vision,  Connection to the Divine, to Heaven.

The 6th Chakra: The Brow

Spiritual & Personal Understanding, Thinking, Perception.

The 5th Chakra: The Throat

Communication, Creative Expression, Voice.

The 4th Chakra: The Heart

Emotional processing, Love, Closest Relationships.

The 3rd Chakra: The Upper Stomach

Personal Power, Will.

The 2nd Chakra: The Lower Abs/Reproductive Organs

Pleasure, Connection, Sexual/Reproductive experiences.

The 1st Chakra: Base of Spine

Survival, Our Connection to Earth, Relationship with Self and Others.

Energy Wellness Meditation Exercise

In this day and age it can be a real trial to stay grounded. Physically, we are surrounded with electromagnetic pollution, chemicals and wrong foods. Emotionally, we are on overload with our responsibilities, choices and thought patterns. And, spiritually, we can come into contact with too many negative 'vibes' through out the day that attach themselves to us and then we neglect to rid ourselves of them, which causes stress, anxiety and burn out. We need time out.

When meditating our minds should not be blank but focused on a mantra, a word, color, sound or syllable. It is not like praying. When we pray, we ask or thank. In meditation we focus and listen. The use of color in meditation enhances the opening of our chakras centers, developing and expanding them beyond previous limits. Go somewhere quiet where you will not be disturbed. Get into a comfortable position. close your eyes and begin breathing slowly and deeply. As you breathe out, imagine you are expelling all of your tensions and worries. As you breathe in, you are taking in peace and love. The key in meditation is to concentrate on something positive, without being distracted, for a certain length of time. You may want to focus on a word that is calming and meaningful to you, such as love, peace or Ohm. Don't worry if your mind keeps drifting to your shopping list or lastnight's events. This is normal. Start with trying to 'focus' for five minutes and gradually build from there. If words don't suit you, try picturing a place in your mind you would like to be or go to. As you are meditating, be mindful of your five senses in this place you have created to relax in. Feel the sun on your face, smell the flowers, hear the waves roll up on the beach. the sand under your feet. Be there in every sense. It may help you to imagine that your body is being covered from head to foot and saturated in a warm, loving bright light. Imagine that this light is filling any holes it might find as it seeps into your body and relaxes you. This light contains the healing energy of the universe. Let everything else drift away until you are ready to return. Some people prefer to play soft meditation music in the background. The notes calmly belay the stages of their meditation and act as a reminder to wrap things up. When you are through with your meditation, sit for a moment or two and reorient yourself to your surroundings, your breathing and your five senses. Smile and give yourself a pat on the back.

The Use of Color for Chakra Meditation

You can also meditate with color by imagining each chakra being saturated with it's own particular color. As you focus on each chakra in your meditation, starting with the Root Chakra at the base of your spine, and moving up through the rest, visualize giving each chakra a boost of it's own color. Pay attention to how this feels. Does the energy of the color visit and pass through easily. Is the chakra filled enough already, hesitate to invite the color in, feel blocked in any way? Does it have more of a need than the others? What emotions do you sense? What messages?

If you are curious about these 'answers', you can visit 'Aura Energy Balancing' and read up on the colors your felt were too high (open) or too low (closed or blocked) and receive tips on how to become more energetically balanced! You might move on to 'Color Therapy Boxes' for a dose of immediate color!

Color Meanings of Chakras

As you learn more about chakras, you will find that each chakra may have a few variances in color.

The Crown Chakra

Violet - Violet connects you to your highest self, increases vision, esteem and morality.

White - Good for connecting to innocence and purity. It connects us with others on a spiritual plane and helps to reduce pain. It is good for the physical brain.

Gold - Gold is a masculine energy and enhances your connection to God and your own personal strength. It strengthens your entire body, which is why many people 'Go for the Gold' when meditating for better health!

Silver - Silver is a feminine energy that helps you to communicate well and move faster. It is spiritually strengthening.

The Third Eye Chakra

Indigo, Purple or Lavender (not shown here) - Deepens your spiritual life, increases your sense of leadership and sense of royalty. Promotes a relaxed and light hearted attitude toward others and life.

The Throat Chakra

Blue increases the inner teacher, helps you to speak the truth and find peace. It increases sensitivity and brings a quiet sense of order and the ability to trust. It brings a deeper sense of purpose and relieves pain.

The Heart Chakra

Green promotes an active love for others, imbodies balance and abundance of all that makes you feel fine.

The Solar Plexus (upper tummy) Chakra

Yellow increases mental clarity and a sense of what is just and fair.

The Sacral (lower tummy) Chakra

Orange increases ambition and encourages creative expression. It stimulates sexual energy and inhances the immune system.

The Root Chakra

Red increases the will to live in the material world and increases our connection to earth.

Black - Helps you to become centered deep within yourself by helping you to find internal creative forces. It can be used for strength, support and healing bones, but too much of it can bring on depression.

The Colors We Wear

The colors that we wear affect our auras by infusing the color of the cloth into our electromagnetic fields by way of 'light' and 'sight'. Colors carry certain vibrations, which either strengthen or weaken us. Black can be grounding, but may cause depression when worn alone too often. If you wear alot of black, which Gothic folks and office types often do, try to wear another color with it to balance the effect. Red gives us 'life force' energy, but can cause nervousness and even anger when we are subject to it for too long of a period of time. This is why hospitals usually use calming colors such as blues and greens. They are calming colors. When deciding what colors to add to our wardrobe, consider the following meanings.

Color Meaning Key Words

Violet: Restless, ambitious, regal, noble, mystical, spiritual, moral, leadership, high values, artisitic.

Indigo: Changeable, impulsive, reclusive, dignified, studious, approachable.

Blue: Understanding, peaceful, contemplation, sincerity, health, patience, truth, giving.

Green: Growth, luck, feminine, fertility, nature, healing, harmony, love, empathy, nurturance, abundance, balance.

Yellow: Persuasion, optimism, playfulness, charm, clarity, uplifting, confidence, intellectual.

Orange: Encouragement, communication, attraction, kindness, friendship, sharing, warm, content.

Red: Strength, stimulative, alert, passion, energy, physical, vigor, sexuality, alertness, charity (love). Too much can cause impatience.

Brown: Earthiness, grounding, stability, heirloom.

White: Purity, cleanliness, magic, innocense, protection, illuminating.

Black: Mystery, strength, magic, depth, power. Too much can cause depression.

What colors are you presently surrounded by? Do you see any correlation between any of the key words above and how you may be feeling lately at home or work?

Hydrochromopathy & Color of Food

One way to internalize color is to eat or drink it! Gather together at least 7 different colored glass bottles. You can always wrap clear bottles in colored cellophane if you can't find the right colors. Fill whichever color bottle you like with pure water and place it on the windowsill for at least a half hour (some say 4 hours), in the full sun (for energy) or the moonlight (for calming). Say a blessing of thanks and drink it down! Warm colors should be drunk earlier in the day and cool colors in the evening. Water is good for 2 days (some say 2 weeks) left covered in the fridge. To find out what colors to drink, and what ailments they may help with, visit 'Creative Ritual!'.

Another way to incorporate color into your aura is to eat those colors that are missing, or low energy, in your aura by choosing foods of those same colors. Need some cheer? Eat an orange! Need to cool off? Have some blueberries or purple plums. Stick with natural foods. Fruit Loops may be pretty, but they lack the natural electromagnetic vibrations found in plants. Visit my 'Eating, Naturally!' page for more information on how to eat your healthiest!

Bath color therapy is another way to take advantage of color. Add color to the bath through herbs, flowers and essential oils. Each of these relate to a particular color. Of course, if you are in the mood for love, it is not hard to guess that red rose petals will suffice.

Essential oils are like medicines and need to be measured. Never put more than 5-10 drops of any one essential oil in the tub. And never add more than 3 different oils. That means no more than 30 total drops.

Herbs can be wrapped in cloth and tied to the faucet so that their vibrations are released as water fills the tub.

Color Tips for the Home!

"I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him."

-Abraham Lincoln

Makes no difference whether land or sea. When using color in your home, first, ask yourself what colors you are now surrounded by and whether those colors are working for you. Dominating colors can have a profound affect upon our well-being.

Light's Relationship To Color

When light enters the body, it affects the major gland of the endocrine system, which is the pituitary. The pituitary gland controls hormones released by the endocrine glands. These regulate body functions such as metabolism, energy levels, appetite, sex drive, quality of sleep and growth. You don't have to see color to be influenced by it. By choosing, more carefully, what colors we wear and bring into our environments, we can bring about emotional, physical and mental balance.

We may have a certain affinity to certain colors (favorites) because they support and resonate our own personal vibrations. The colors we choose to have around us communicate to the world, what we feel and who we are. It is important to include both warm and cool shades in your home and in dressing.

A color wheel will help you to determine what colors are complimentary to the colors you prefer. One can often find color wheels, having more than just primary colors, available in paint stores, or visit your local library or bookstore for books on decorating with color.

Healthy Homes

It is important to create a healthy home. Going from room to room, you can raise energy levels through getting rid of clutter, cleaning, organizing, reducing the effects of electromagnetic energy fields, balancing color, placement of natural objects and materials and the use of creative lighting. Whatever you can do to increase the energy of your home will also increase the energy of your aura!

Entry-Ways & Hallways

In times past, our front doors were the same ones our customers entered to purchase their wares with the family often living in smaller quarters upstairs or behind the curtain at the far end of the room. In some places, this still holds true.

Our front doors (or gang planks) give the first impression to all who come to our door and to ourselves. What does the entry way to your home say to others, to you? Is there adequate lighting? Are the light fixtures clean and bug free, or are there old moths inside with dusty spider webs clinging to the shades or sails? Are your steps free of debris? Do your keys work well in their locks?

Once inside the door, are people going to trip over things in the dark or is it light and airy, with space to get around? These things say alot about your energy level, or your vibration. What vibe are you giving off?

Hallways tell the real truth, don't they, about what is behind the first impression? Keep your hallways free of clutter. If a hallway is small, make it appear larger by hanging a mirror.

First, de-clutter and clean up outside your door! Add a plant or two to soften the entry-way, give it some curves! Lay an attractive matt to keep dirt from walking in on shoes. Check your lighting. Is it bright enough, but not too bright? Add a chime or a Chinese dog statues, perhaps a gargoyle!

Inside, add some light colored paint to the walls of dark hallways. Place a mirror in your hallway to make it appear larger. Not a good idea to have it facing the door though. That causes energy to bounce in and bounce right back out! Add a little table under, if you have room, to hold fresh flowers or other objects that express whom you are. Create, raise energy and have fun!

Feng Shui Tip! Place your plants in gold color pots, outside your front door, to increase prosperity. When using mirrors, try to have your mirror reflect nature back into the home!

Kitchens

Kitchens are a great place to use some of those all natural 'nature' objects. Flowers go well here. So do items made out of natural ingredients, such as baskets. Please, keep your kitchen clean. It is, in many ways, the heart of your home. Kitchens should have good lighting. There is nothing wrong with placing lamps in your kitchen, as long as the cords are not showing. Find another storage place for those special items you rarely use. Purchase a walter filter for your sink. Leave bowls of healthy snacks (fruit, trail mix, etc.) in your kitchen and dining room.

Feng Shui Tip! Place bar stools under counters, keep stoppers in the sink drains,  remove water vessels from the stove when not in use, place lights in your china cabinet and avoid purchasing tables or center islands with sharp corners.

Dining Room

Dining rooms should have low lighting, but be lit well enough to see the food on your plate. Colored candles, flowers, tablecloths, napkins and placemats are pleassant accessories and stimulate conversation when applied in warm colors. Seat cushions add cheer and warmth. The table should be big enough to hold bowls of food and still eat at the same time. Wood tables are preferred, as glass can make people uncomfortable. This table should not be used for storing things on and should always offer a bowl of veggies, fruit or trail mix for healthy snacking. Floors should be wood.

Living Room

Living rooms benefit from comfortably placed chairs, enough for your typical crowd of guests, and sitting areas should be placed in areas of brightest light. White or cream walls with brown accesory tones work best. During the day there should be open blinds for lots of natural light. In the evening thre should be the possibility of balanced light. Candles are wonderful for achieving this affect. Bring in elements of the natural world. Make sure never to leave flowers or plants in dirty water. The focal point in the living room should never be an entertainment center. The focal point should be, rather, a painting, a window with a view or a fireplace. Fireplaces can be decorated with candles on the grate or red or orange flowers when not in use. Paintings should be of something that holds importance to you, something that is and aspect of the kind of life you live, want or something you enjoy. Floors should be wood, covered in rugs with all natural cotton area rugs.

Office

This is a great place for symbols, articles and books that interest you and pertain to career. Healthy plants go well here. They eliminate acetones and formaldehyde.  If you are working under slanted ceilings or beams, keep them 'lifted' with lights that shine up at them. Use natural daylight bulbs. 'Water' pictures should be of water running smoothly. Watch out for EMFs in your office. Place an Electromagnetic screen over your monitor to keep yourself safe. Natural wood floors help to reduce static. Your chair should offer good support in the arch area of your back so that you do not slump. Choose cane and wicker organizers over plastic. Artwork should be inspiring and soft music calming. Keep your work area well ventillated.

Feng Shui Tip! Place a manifestation board in your office (a collage, etc.) of your goals. Do not place your office over your bedroom (on the second floor) or you will always have work hanging over you.

Bedrooms

Bedrooms are for sleeping and love making, not TV, work, and late-night reading. They should be neat, dark at night, comfortable, and not too warm. Colors used should be conducive to rest, such as creams, beige and whites (neutrals), soft greens (healing), or rose (affection). To keep balance to the room, nightstands should be the same height on either side of the bed and there should be various lightings available. A bench, quilt hanger or trunk at the end of the bed helps to contain the energy of those sleeping. Mirrors should not face the foot of the bed. Some would say not to have them face the bed at all, as they can casue restlessness and insomnia. Change your mattress whenever you change relationships. This means spending more or being more monogomous! Wash sheets and blankets often. Use untreated cotton and linen if you can afford to. Try not to wear shoes in this room. Shoes bring in pollutants. Don't ever use harsh chemicals in your bedroom. Art work should be inspiring and have personal meaning. Adding plants, aromatherapy and soft music are conducive to sleep. There should always be a natural filtration of light in the bedroom in which to keep your natural rythms balanced. You don't have to keep curtains open, but neither should you blacken out the windows by any means.

Feng Shui Tip! In the bedroom, make sure your view from the bed faces the door and  that your reflection can not be seen in a mirror or the TV when you are in bed. Don't share the head of your bed with the toilet on the other side of the wall.  Don't put things under your bed or have electrical cords running behind your headboard. This is draining!

Children's Rooms

With today's technology, such as it is, children's rooms are being bombarded with electronic energy fields that are disrupting their auras and causing a host of symptoms and dysfunctions. These disruptions are coming from TVs, computer games, electronic toys and gadgets, baby monitors, etc. Children's rooms should have stimulating colors in the play area and peaceful ones in the sleep area. If you live somewhere where you are not free to paint or paper the walls, this can be achieved through the colors of a child's toy bins, art work, curtains and bedding. Keep in mind that a newborn should not be placed in a room that has been recently remodeled, painted or wall papered in any way. Their delicate immune systems will become overwhelmed. Use al natural cleaners in children' rooms. This is a good idea for all rooms of the home.

There should be no TV, computer, etc. in the 'bed' room. This discourages the use of their imaginations and peaceful sleep. Save these items for the family room where time involved can be monitored. This will leave the rest of the home fairly safe from those frequencies.

Bathrooms

Bathrooms, just like kitchens, should be kept especially clean. All furniture should be wood rather than glass. Colors that mimic nature, and work well especially well in bathrooms, are shades of Green, Blue, Brown and White. White in the bathroom makes everything appear to be fresh and clean. There should be no permanent carpet, as mold likes dark places. A large mirror is well worth having, but make sure the glass is not distorted, cracked or creates multiple images of yourself. Candles come in wonderfully for the bathroom. Add colorful bath salts and soaps to your bath. Display them in clear jars and containers. If you are concerned about glass jars being bumped and broken, choose clear plastic ones. Plants love the moisture bathrooms provide as long as natural light is available. Use untreated cotton towels if you can afford to and cotton rugs with slip proof backing.

If electrical wiring runs along highly conductive waterpipes, EMFs will travel through your body and drain you as you are bathing or showering. Purchase a water filter for your shower head. We inhale toxic chemicals, such as chloride, as we shower. Click here for more information on Toxic Water. Adding a handful of baking soda to your bath will help to clear negativities from your aura. Let it dissolve first before stepping in. Borax works great as a cleanser for the bathroom, especially in cleaning tiles.

Feng Shui Tip! When the toilet is not in use, keep the lid down and close the bathroom door. You don't want your prosperity going down the drain. Also, place a small silk plant, flowers or fabric on both sides of the toilet base. I slip floral patterned napkin rings over the 'knobs' that bolt the toilet to the floor. They can be thrown in the wash whenever needed!

Bringing Nature Into the Home

You can bring natural energy into your home by learning to decorate with nature itself. How many times have we walked down the beach, here in the Northwest, and pocketed a special looking rock or a pretty little shell? Bringing these treasures home with us not only remind us of fond moments and special memories, but ground us spiritually with the earth we live in.

Not only can you decorate with rocks, crystals and shells, but the materials you use in your home can be natural as well. Adding wicker in the kitchen, driftwood on your porch or flowers on the coffee table all add life to your home! Placing pictures around the home that display nature are also beneficial. Don't forget water fountains and aquariums!

Plants and flowers are one of the easiest ways to bring nature into the home. Add some potted herbs to your windowsill. The following plants do a great job at cleaning the air of unhealthy electromagnetic energies and add oxygen to the air.

English ivy, Spider plant, Bamboo palm, Dwarf date, Boston fern, Peace lily, Schefflera, Rubber plant and the Janet Craig dracaena.

Plant Tip! Philodendron is poisonous to cats.

Never use dry flowers and plants to decorate your home. I know some of them are beautiful, but they are dead. It's just not a good vibe at all. Use, instead, silk plants and flowers. They can be washed. If they fade, replace them. If there are flowers that were given to you and you want to dry them as keepsakes, try to find a special container or display case for them.

Feng Shui Tip! Try not place pictures of ice, snow or crashing waves or parched desert around. Stick with pictures of trees, fields, calm waters, plant life, fruit, flowers or pictures of healthy people. The idea here is growth, not threat.

If you have concerns about how healthy your home is, I encourage you to do a household head-to-toe 'health' inventory. I have found a helpful website to help you to know what to look for. Visit 'Energy Wellness Tips!' and scroll down to Energy Wellness Tip #3!

To Attract Love

Place romantic literature, artwork with two happy people, soft pillows and blankets, drapes, pairs of things around the house (candles, birds, etc.), vanilla incense, flowers, a pink light bulb, round mirrors. Use shades of Red (love, lust, attraction), Pink (friendship and affection) and White (innocence and purity).

To Attract Prosperity

Get an aquarium, use the accent colors Red, Gold and Green. Place a bowl of chocolate gold foiled coins in a bowl. Throw in some real coins with it. Add a valuable antique, crystals or vibrant colored artwork to your decor.

To Attract Knowledge & Wisdom

Add Deep Blue and Green items to your decor. Place books and videos of the things you want to learn around you. Add photos and paintings of wise people (grandma, Jesus, Buddha, Mother Theresa, Wayne Dyer, Martin Kuther King, etc.). Also, add artwork of quiet places, such as a garden, alters, spiritual music, water fountains and meditational items.

For Encouraging Better Family Relationships

Only living things will do! No dead things lying about! No animal furs, dead flowers, half dead plants, etc. Use wood, rattan, bamboo objects, beautiful heirlooms, china, momentos, cherished photos of friends and family, flowers in bright colors, artwork and photos of lush forest groves and gardens.

Aromatherapy & Essential Oils

Aromatic oils are manufactured, not to be confused with essential oils, and are used in candles, room sprays and perfumes.

Essential oils are naturally derived from plant stems, leaves and flowers. They are used to help us unwind, relax, heal various ailments and to use for cosmetic purposes. Try this one tonight!

Indulge in this Foot Bath tonight!

Place river rocks in the bottom of a dish pan. Fill with warm water and add 5 drops of lavender or rosemary. Roll your feet over the rocks for a wonderful massage!

All Natural Toiletries!

Another way to boost your electromagnetic energy, or aura, is to stay clear of hygiene products that do damage to your system. Find ways of creating your own natural products from your kitchen cupboard! Instead of buying fancy and expensive lotions that may give you skin problems, or worse, in the long run, reach for almond oil to pamper your skin or olive oil for tired feet. Try the following all natural facial exfoliate!

Oatmeal Facial Exfoliate

Take 1/4 cup of oatmeal and add water to make a paste. Apply to face using gentle circles and then rinse. For added benefit, a real skin smoother, leave it on your face until it is nearly dry and rinse off. Oooh...such soft skin!

Moisturizer

To complete your facial, rub a bit of almond oil, with a few drops of tea tree oil (great for healing blemishes) between your palms and then gently massage onto your face. You won't believe how fresh you feel and look!

Staying Grounded

Warning! There are Vampyres at Work!

Psychic vampires are those who drain our 'life force', make us irritable, anxious and depressed, and then blame us for being that way! It may be tempting to believe there is something wrong with you just because you can't figure out what's quite wrong with them, but don't fall for that. They are dangerous! If you continually get bad 'vibes' from someone, feel bad around them, and can't rectify the situation, get away!

The following are methods of staying grounded, right now, today, so that you won't become a bombarded mess! This is especially important for Highly Sensitive People.

Physical Grounding Tip #1: House & Yard

House and yard work can help to ground you, especially when you have been 'all in your head'. Moving the body and accomplishing tasks enables you to move beyond mental stress. Homes and yards that are cluttered or dirty, put strain on the aura. As you maintain your home and yard, you clean up and 'brighten' your very own energy field, which feels great!

Staying Grounded Tip #2: Thoughts & Emotions

What you think, you will become. It is true. If you think you are happy and satisfied, you will be. If you think you are a loser and will never amount to anything, you will be that as well. Often, we are not even aware of what we are thinking. In fact, it may not seem like we are thinking all of the time, it can seem more like we are just 'feeling' all of the time. It is important to know the thoughts behind the feelings so that we can change them if they are negative.

Writing can help. If you are feeling negatively, and don't know why, take out a piece of paper and write,

"What am I feeling?" Write down your answer.

Then, ask yourself, "Why am I feeling this way?" Write down your answer.

Keep doing this until you have the core answer. You'll know when you have the core answer because you will have gone as far with your answers as you could go.

Then ask yourself, "Do I have any real reason to feel this way?" Explore your answers.

Then, ask yourself, "Realistically, what can I do about this right now, today, that will make me feel better?" Answer your question.

Ask yourself, "Am I willing to do this?". Answer your question.

If you aren't ready to do it, or it is beyond your means, don't waste time feeling bad about it. It is enough to know what you are feeling and why. You will now have some idea of what you will need to do to feel better as well.

If, during your writing, you discovered that you are bad talking yourself, (I'm so stupid, I could never do this or that, I screwed up, I'm too scared...etc.), make a commitment to give yourself pep talks and compliments the rest of the week. Be your own best friend. You will begin to feel better, I promise!

If you are able to do something about the way you feel, and want to, do it. If you are not able, are stuck or want to hold off, I suggest making a 'Prayer or Wish Box'. This box is where you keep your written down prayer, wish or trouble put away for a bit. Often, when you come back to them, you will find prayers have been answered and problems have been solved!

Staying Grounded Tip #3: Dealing With Negativity

The most exhausting thing in life is to be insincere.

- Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Alot of what I am going to say is repeated from 'Dealing With Negativity' , but it is worth repeating here. Believe it or not, there are numerous entities around us, some of which we cannot see. They come to attack our very souls and will drain our very 'life' energy away if we let them. Some are found in the environments we find ourselves entering and some are in our very homes.

Have you ever been in a room of people, enjoying yourself and then, with the appearance of someone new, have the whole atmosphere change? Suddenly, you find yourself uncomfortable, for no apparent reason, wishing you could retreat into a corner, or better yet, outside, to get away from this 'presence'? It may not even be a person. It could be a house or building.

Have you ever gotten a headache or stomach ache just thinking about being around someone? There is nothing worse for an aura, besides trauma, than living in an inhospitable situation where personal thoughts, beliefs, values and emotions go invalidated or are outright rejected. Your partner may not have to be interested in what you are interested in, but he does have to be interested that you are interested!

If either of these situations have happened to you, you have been in the presence of an 'energy' that is negative and harmful to you. It may not be negative and harmful to others, but it is to you.

For example, people in negative relationships, often refer to their significant others, when they are upset, in the following ways:

He makes me sick!

He's a pain in the ___!

Our relationship is just one big headache!

He just drains me!

I don't like the way I feel when I go home!

If this relationship continues on its course, she will develop headaches, feel sick, be in pain and damage her life force, which causes depression. It is important, while we are working out our dramas, that we protect ourselves from negative energy. If you are acting one way to keep the peace, but feel another, you are probably drained. To hide your feelings all of the time is unhealthy. It will make you ill. Eventually, you will have to make the decision to love yourself more than you do now.

There are times in our lives where personal, protective rituals can help us to overcome situations and people such as this. 'Creative Ritual!' can show you how! The following exercises will provide some immediate protection!

Exercise #1-The Two Arm Cross

To avoid negative energy from draining you as much, cross your arms over your chest (heart and upper stomach region). This protects the Solar Plexus Chakra, which processes your feelings and reactions. We naturally do this without even thinking, but it actually protects us from negative energies!

Exercise #2-The Butterfly

This works great for when you finally get that moment alone! Pretend you are a butterfly. Reach up and gently hold on to the tips of both wings. Now, bring them down and fold them around you. Imagine your wings draping you from your head to your toes. Do this a few times until you feel cocooned, safe and warm!

Exercise #3-Put on God's Armor!

Pray. The power of the Creator is stronger than any other force!

"My enemies come out at night, snarling like vicious dogs as they prowl the streets. They scavenge for food, but they go to sleep unsatisfied. But as for me, I will sing about your power, I will shout with joy each morning because of your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety in the day of distress."

Psalm 59: 14-16

Exercise #4 - Light & Mirrors

Imagine your body full of a loving 'White and Gold' light that lights you up from the inside out, bursts from the tips of your fingers and toes, and swims around you like a warm blanket! Know in your heart that this is 'God' in you. For extra protection, now imagine that you are wearing a velvet cloak, in which the outer side is made up of mirrors. These mirrors can be a single sheet, many singular ones, or in so many numbers that they glitter like diamonds. You decide. These mirrors are there to deflect any negativity sailing your way! These techniques can be used separately, but together are a double whammy to any negativity that would try to harm you.
