"Thank you all so very much!

You lend hope and inspiration to others!"

"I've followed 'The Captains Lady' eating suggestions and it has really worked! I've lost 17 pounds in the first 3 weeks and I feel great! I am never hungry. In fact, sometimes I have to remember to eat all of my food! I have also lost 13 inches off my waist, hips and thighs! I would recommend 'The Natural Weigh' to anyone, especially with stress syndromes. Since I have been eating 'The Natural Weigh', I have less headaches and I am not as tired! My doctor is even happy about my new eating habits!"

"For the past few years, I have been plagued with the recurring problem of having sores in my mouth. They been so painful at times that I could neither talk, nor eat. I am a health technician for the hard of hearing. In my work, I am required to communicate a lot and to speak up loudly. This was difficult because any movement of my mouth would cause me great pain. This has gone on for the past three years, at least once per month and sometimes lasting weeks on end.

In my research for the cause, I found there was no ‘working’ theory, only that it could be related to diet, or a digestive problem. Not knowing specifics, left me struggling each day with horrific pain.

During one of my flair ups, I contacted The Captains Lady. Mari, after hearing of my problems, suggested that I try multi-enzyme supplements. She explained that we are born with a certain amount of enzymes, some of which help us to digest our foods and, as time passes, these ‘digestive aids’ are used up for one reason or another. When this happens, the stomach is burdened, as the natural enzymes have dropped in numbers and are no longer functioning as they once did. Taking multi-enzyme supplements aids the digestive process.

I have been taking enzymes for a few months now. The flair ups happen much less often! When they do occur, I just chew some more enzymes (mine are the chewable type) and the sores go away. It has been a life changing experience for me, as I can live my daily life pain free. Thanks for your insight!

I am also looking into other suggestions, that The Captains Lady offers, on weight control and a diet that will work best for me and my body."

Hi Mari

This is Molly, or Mols, from the yahoo group. I just wanted to tell you I have been reading your website and its wonderful!!  Thank you so much for all you have shared, I already have learned so much just in where my energies are scattered, as we say.  Lol, I knew some of my chakras were more open than others, but your test has really helped me with this even more. So, thank you!! I have a book on the way about my chakras and aromatherapy oils to use with breathing techniques, as well to help get them back in order. I am taking some courses at Kristen's school and my teacher, Linda, also said this would help me get my energies sorted, so to speak, seeing all the visions and stuff I am going through now and trying to understand.

Also, thank you for all the other tips, as they are great, and I will be coming back often to read more. I also wanted you to know I do understand what you were saying about not being in a hurry and I do know this but, being a Gemini, I seem to think everything needs to be rushed and I know not...

I love, also, how you have explained altars and such, as I to have an altar in my room , many crystals and angels and fairies. I. myself, have a wonderful connection with the fairie realm and I love it! Nature is awesome isn't it and Mother Nature...well she is gorgeous!!  Thanks so much again and Huggers and loads of love to you for all you do.

"I used to have stomach problems so bad that I could not take my kids the places they wanted to go for very long without having to come home earlier than planned. Sometimes, I would have to cancel appointments and get togethers with friends because I never knew when I would have to run to the bathroom, especially out in public. This caused me so much frustration and embarrassment. There were so many times I just wanted to cry. Everyone kept telling me it was just my nerves. I never really thought so, but what else could I believe. Mari told me all about enzymes. She told me where to get them and which ones might be best for me. I tried them and they started to help me right away! Now I can take the kids on outings and go to the store without worrying about where the next bathroom on the map is. I feel better and better as time goes by. I have more energy now too. Thanks Mari!"

I wanted to say that I came to your site from the HHA site and found your comments and assistance to others to be very insightful. After coming to your site, I know why. Right now I am assisting in two chakra painting, healing classes and your site is so helpful. My journey began approximately one year ago, although I have always felt I was trying to reach for something, not knowing what that something was. It took my mother passing and her nudging me in a particular direction to open my eyes. I have always been in service to others. Right now I am surrounded with others that are of a like mind and have been able to assist others better because I see things in a different way. Thank you for you site, love and light to you as you have given this love and light to others.

Good morning. A funny thing happened on my way to check something out. I was looking for The Captains Lady Book store on line and I found you. What a wonder filled web sight. I know I was supposed to find you. Your web sight is presenting so much wonderful information. I am 73 according to the calendar and have been on my conscious spiritual journey for 23 years. I have learned so much and have come so far. I am experiencing an issue I have been working on for some time. It has improved but is not gone yet. I believe it is a stuck energy issue and I know that some of your ideas will be of great help. Thank you so much for being here. I will tell others about this sight.

Mari. Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your website. I was recently reviewing the possible diagnoses and treatment of certain ailments that I am experiencing and was amazed at the similarities for treatment between the different symptoms that I have. I am excited to begin a regimen of natural vitamins/minerals and diet, in the hopes of at least, minimizing my symptoms. Thanks again.

DID YOU KNOW?

Many years ago in Scotland, a new game was invented. It was ruled "Gentlemen Only...Ladies Forbidden"...

...and thus the word GOLF entered into the English language.

Many years ago in England, pub frequenters had a whistle baked into the rim, or handle, of their ceramic cups. When they needed a refill, they used the whistle to get some service. "Wet your whistle" is the phrase inspired by this practice.

In the 1400's a law was set forth that a man was not allowed to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb. Hence we have "the rule of thumb".

In English pubs, ale is ordered by pints and quarts... So in old England, when customers got unruly, the bartender would yell at them "Mind your pints and quarts, and settle down." It's where we get the phrase "mind your P's and Q's"

In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes. When you pulled on the ropes the mattress tightened, making the bed firmer to sleep on. Hence the phrase......... "goodnight, sleep tight."

Thank you, Lynette, for great wives tales from the 'old world'!

An Old World Tale...

John William Waterhouse (1849-1917). ‘The Lady of Shalott’. 1888.

On my website you will see several old time paintings of women, some of them represent The Lady of Shalott and here is her story.

There are several women in the days of King Arthur that beheld the name of Elaine. But, the most popular that artists and poets alike try to capture through poem or paint is Elaine the White, daughter of Bernard of Astolat. She is the subject of Tennyson's famous poem, 'The Lady of Shalott', who was, by most accounts, kept prisoner in a tower by her father who did not want her to witness the corrupt and seductive beauty of the world outside her chambers.

She would not look directly out the tower window for fear the curses she had been told of would kill her for doing so. Still, she snuck a peek now and again through her looking glass in her chamber.

One day, Elaine, spotted a glimpse of a knight in full armor, riding below near the rivers edge. She spun to look at him directly and her mirror cracked down the center, startling her and sending her stumbling into her loom, which tangled about her skirts. She was sure it was sign that a curse had befallen her.

Still, she came out of her tower, as bid, and stood by her father to greet whom she would come to know as none other than Sir Lancelot. When it was discovered he was to fight in a tournament, she asked him to wear her red sleeve as a token. Lancelot accepted her token calculating that he would not be recognized if he wore it in the tournament and that it might perhaps be an advantage toward winning the day. However, Elaine, happily taking his shield for safekeeping, took it as a sign of his love for her in return.

Lancelot won the tournament, but was wounded in the event. Elaine set about to heal his wounds and she did, indeed, nurse him back to health. Later, when Lancelot tried to thank her, Elaine said that she had only one wish and that was to become his wife.

Now, Lancelot, being in love with Guinevere, told Elaine that he could never, ever marry her. He took his shield and went away from her, back to Guinevere, or so he thought.

After Lancelot's leave, Elaine returned to her tower more grievous than before. She felt the death come upon her heart and knock. She answered.

Lancelot returned to Guinevere who was consumed with a jealous rage from seeing Lancelot wear Elaine's token. Just as Guinevere cast the sleeve onto the river, a barge floated by bearing the body of the Fair Maid, Elaine of Astolat, with letter still in hand, addressed to the gallant knight, announcing to everyone that she had died for love of Sir Lancelot. In it, she had asked the queen and the ladies of Camelot to pray for her soul. Lancelot read it and wept bitter tears.

"Sweet is true love tho' given in vain;

and sweet is death who puts and end to pain."

- Alfred Tennyson

The Captain's Lady

O, mount and go,
mount and make ye ready!

O, mount and go,
and be the Captain's Lady!

When the drums do beat,

and the cannons rattle,

thou shalt sit in state,

and see thy love in battle.

When the vanquish'd foe

sues for peace and quiet,

to the shades we'll go,

and in love enjoy it.
